Why does society make such a big deal over suicide? We did not ask to be born so why ask permission to die?

Why does everyone ask what is the meaning of life? Why dont they just live it and find out for themselves?
Some people do not even seem to grasp what life really is to begin with which is why it is easier for them to ask other people and use their opinions as their own!! Its all secondhand knowledge in this society!
